Plycraft Lounge Chair - SOLD

Phil and I are excited to have met Jess and Andy from Modern Hub.  We will be selling select reupholstered vintage furnishings of theirs in our showroom in Rowley.  These pieces will nicely compliment our furnishings, and will broaden our offerings.  We really appreciate their craftsmanship and taste, and we look forward to working with them more in the future.

Modern Hub is named after Boston's nickname "the Hub", where the company is based. Andy and Jess Lubets (a husband and wife team like us) started Modern Hub together after several years of collecting and selling mid-century furniture.  At first they collected to fill their home. Then they collected out of a love for both the design and the hunt. When Jess discovered a talent and love for upholstery, it became something more than just a hobby.  Jess and Andy look for upholstered pieces that are in need of restoration and save them from the dump. Like Blue Lamb, they design and restore their own pieces, and they also work with clients on custom pieces. Here is a link to their website: http://www.modern-hub.com/.

This Plycraft lounge chair is a beauty!  It was manufactured mid-century, following the introduction of the iconic Eames 670 lounge chair.  It has a molded bentwood frame and a unique reclining mechanism.  The iron base with wood overlays and wood joining pieces in the back for the headrest are also quite unique.  The new tufted fabric is Camira in Craggan Marsh.  It is 100% wool. The brand Camira is known for sustainable production practices, which we all appreciate.  The recliner measures: 33 1/2"W x 31"D x 40 1/2"H.
