Pale Gray Paul McCobb Chest - SOLD

This is a classic, mid-century modern, designer chest of drawers that has been salvaged, repaired, and refinished.  It is one-of-a kind, and it is stunning in person.  The chest was originally designed by the Massachusetts born, legendary modern furniture designer Paul McCobb.  It was part of the Planner Group collection, which was manufactured by the Winchendon (Massachusetts) Furniture Company, and was among the best selling contemporary furniture lines of the 1950s.  The new finish is two hand-painted coats of Benjamin Moore Advance (a premium semi-gloss paint) over two coats of BIN primer.  The paint color is a very pale blue gray.  The chest is constructed with solid maple. The drawers are clean and deep.  Sadly, the chest did not come to us with its original hardware. However, the polished chrome peg knobs that we chose for the drawers are period-authentic reproductions, and we think they suit the piece quite nicely.  This piece measures: 36"W x 19"D x 42"H.

Solid walnut.  Manufactured mid-century in Bassett, Virginia by Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc.  The natural wood grain on the three middle drawer fronts has been refinished.  The original brass hardware has been polished.  The rest of the piece has been painted.  Our painting technique involves layering multiple coats of a highly durable Benjamin Moore premium semi-gloss paint over two coats of primer.  All six drawers slide well. They are solidly constructed with dovetail joints.  The top middle drawer has built-in wooden dividers.  For a little extra spice, we lined the drawers, and the back of the cabinet, with a gray + white, high-end wall covering featuring monkeys swinging on vines.  This is a very versatile, statement worthy piece of furniture.  Excellent for storage in any room.  It measures: 62 1/2"W x 18"D x 30 1/2"H.

Petite Stylized MCM Hutch - SOLD

Adorable, redesigned modern vintage hutch.  Simple, classic clean lines. Beautiful Danish-style architectural details. Solid build. Manufactured mid-century (circa 1960) by the Keller Furniture company. A charcoal and white, high-end wallpaper covering (featuring monkeys swinging on vines) has been applied to the back walls. The rest of the piece retains its original finish, which is in stellar condition. This piece has attractive metal drawer and cabinet hardware, and metal capped feet. The drawers and wood doors slide well, as do the glass doors on the hutch, which we removed to feature the printed wallpaper. They can be reinstalled, if desired. This is a very versatile, statement worthy piece of furniture. The shelving and cabinet combo makes this an excellent piece for storage in any room. It is all one piece, but it is manageable to move because it is modestly sized. This piece measures: 38"W x 15 1/2"D x 62"H.
