Custom-Made Lemonade Stand - SOLD

Phil and I recently completed a really creative project for a client, and we wanted to share it here.  A request came in to us for a custom-made lemonade stand for an elementary school auction.  The client provided us with a set of specifications and some inspirational photos, and we took it from there.  We were able to find a sweet mid-century modern bar that was the perfect size.  It also functioned beautifully with two storage compartments and built-in cup holders.  Once we had before photos of the bar, we pulled them into Photoshop and planned out a design for the piece there.  The bar was a little higher than counter height with its original tapered legs, and we needed to piece to roll, so we replaced the legs with a set of shorter casters with brakes. We transformed the back panel of the bar into the front of the lemonade stand by painting it and installing a framed chalkboard on it (created using Rust-oleum chalkboard paint).  We also built a simple trellis framing the newly assigned front, which we wrapped a flag garland (an Etsy purchase) around.  We used Benjamin Moore Advance semi-gloss paint (our go-to), and a new line of low-adhesion Frog Tape to help us keep the stripes nice and crisp.  We also wanted the hardware on this piece to coordinate with the chrome casters that we purchased, so we painted them with a chrome metallic paint.  This project was more time consuming and labor intensive than we had anticipated, but we were very pleased with the end result.

Here are some before photos of this piece:
